  • Visitors are to arrive 1/2 hour early and show picture Identification. Collecting of ID’s will stop 15 minutes BEFORE the scheduled visitation time.
  • Anyone who arrives late or does not have picture ID will not be allowed to visit.
  • Visits are on a “first come, first serve” basis.
  • Visitors are required to present a VALID, LEGIBLE, OFFICIALLY ISSUED PICTURE IDENTIFICATION (driver’s license, DPS issued identification card, passport or military ID) when registering.
  • Purses, hand carried items, cell phones, weapons and wallets should be secured in the visitor’s vehicle.
  • Contact visits are only approved for Trustee inmates.
  • During your authorized contact visit, holding hands is permitted. One hug and kiss greeting and one hug and kiss leaving is allowed. No other displays of affection will be permitted.

Special visits: In certain circumstances, special visitation arrangements may be approved. A visitation period may be granted to an out-of-town visitor who presents a legible, officially issued picture identification which verifies the location of the visitor’s home from which they have traveled a one-way distance of 300 miles or greater. Requests for special visits are considered on a case-by-case basis and must be submitted to the on duty warden the week of the visitation. Special visits are generally non-contact in nature.
Burnet County Jail:
The following dress requirements are for all visitor visiting inmates. Inmate is responsible to tell their visitor of the dress requirements are. Failure to comply with the dress code may result in termination of visitation privileges.
1. Shirt and shoes are mandatory
2. Halter tops, t-shirt (underwear type), tank tops, fishnet shirts or see through fabrics are not allowed. Shirts and blouses with an open midriff are not allowed. Sleeveless shirts are not allowed for men or women.
3. Shorts or cut-offs are not allowed, except for pre-adolescent boys and girls. (Generally, pre-adolescent means ten (10) years old and younger).
