FRIENDS AND FAMILY RULES  FOR “ON-SITE” VIDEO VISITORS
Must travel to the Van Buren Co. Jail for video visitation.

1).  All visits must be scheduled 24 hours in advance. Click here for schedule.
2).  The duration of each visit is 20 minutes.
3).  No more than 2 visitors present for each visit.
4).  All visits are recorded and subject to electronic monitoring by the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office.
5).  Every visitor must show up at least 10 minutes prior to your scheduled visit and no more than 15 minutes prior to your scheduled visit.  Visitors arriving late will only receive the balance of the remaining visiting time, or may not be allowed to visit, depending on the circumstances.
6).  No NUDITY, provocative clothing, or tight fitting clothing will be allowed during the visit.
7).  Only those scheduled to visit will be allowed in the visitation area.  During a visit, the visitor is required to remain at the visitation booth.  If the visitor leaves the visitation booth, then the visit will be terminated.
8).  Visitors appearing to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, will not be permitted into the video visitation area and their visit will be cancelled.
9).  Visitors under the age of 17 must be accompanied by an adult.
10).  NO cell phones or any other electronic devices are permitted in the lobby.
11).  Loud talking, excessive emotionalism, or any type of disruptive behavior will not be permitted.
12).  Do not damage or deface the visitation equipment.  If you damage or deface the equipment, you could be prosecuted.
13).  If you experience a problem with the audio or video reception during your visit, you are required to notify the visitation staff immediately.

ALL VISITS MUST BE PRE-SCHEDULED

The lobby is open 24 hours a day, if you would like to schedule your visit from a lobby terminal.

Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office reserves the right to deny, cancel or terminate a video visit prior to or during a video session are based upon visitor or resident inmate misconduct.

Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office also reserves the right to restrict a visitor from participating in all future use of the system.

5).  If you experience a problem with the audio or video reception during your visit, contact Securus and the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office immediately.

ITEMS ALLOWED FOR INMATES

  • Cash can be deposited into an inmate’s account through the kiosk in the lobby of the Sheriff’s Office, by the internet by going to www.inmatedeposits.com or by calling toll free to 866-345-1884. There is a fee for all three services. Money orders will be accepted via mail or in person.
  • All MDOC inmate deposits must be sent to the prison they were last at.
  • Valid medical prescriptions are accepted after review/verification by medical staff.
  • Work release inmates may have 1 set of clean clothing dropped off.
  • Inmates scheduled for Jury Trial may have clothing dropped off for wear during trial.
